These are some pictures from January 16, when we took our Italian relatives to the stock show and then back to my house for dinner, where Mike and Lori joined us. Alberto and Matteo were very impressed with the rodeo. Upon seeing a gigantic tractor (even bigger than the one pictured), Matteo exclaimed, “This is America!” I was wearing my cowgirl shirt in honor of the occasion.

Who does Aidan look most like?

Well, we got a little busy this weekend and weren’t able to begin our “Aidan’s First 6 weeks” post. However, we did find a couple of pictures of Rosie and me when we were little and thought it would be fun to show them next to a picture of Aidan. So, here goes. Who does he look most like?

Aidan at 6 Weeks

Just a quick update on Aidan.  He is 6 weeks old today and weighs in at 10 lbs 6 ozs.  Here are a few pictures of him in our red recliner.  He is starting to make the cutest faces and noises.  We plan on putting up a lot more pictures this weekend, so be on the lookout for “The First 6 Weeks of Aidan’s Life: A Photo Essay”.  We plan on weighing him every Friday to plot his growth (he is up ~0.2 lbs from last week).

Its about that time to get the guesses in for Aidan’s birth weight and time of birth.  Just reply to this post with your guesses.  So everyone has the same chances, here is some information that might be useful.  We are inducing on Friday morning.  The ultrasounds have shown that Aidan might be a little bit bigger (he was 8.5 lbs +/- 1 lbs at the last ultrasound on 25 Nov).  So, get your guesses in.  This is like the Price is Right, closest to the correct weight or time without going over wins (one winner for weight and one for time).

Thanksgiving in Denver

Here’s the gang and the table! Turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberries, mushroom and turkey gravies, green beans, olives and pickles, and stuffed acorn squash were enjoyed at our bountiful feast this year. Before we ate, we all shared what we were thankful for, and I can report that family was a popular theme.

And here is a picture of the pies I made. I used the pumpkins I grew for the pumpkin pie! (I didn’t grow the apples, though – because of a late frost we didn’t have any apples this year.) Mom also made her yummy cranberry pie/pudding, which is not pictured, unfortunately.

Hopefully Paul and Daisy will also post a couple of pictures from their camera!
